Relationships between adolescent students’ reading skills, historical content knowledge and historical reasoning ability

چکیده

The ability to apply various reading skills is an important prerequisite comprehend expository texts commonly found in history textbooks, but it unclear which specific contribute students’ historical content knowledge and reasoning abilities. This study used a digital learning environment (DLE) measure support lower secondary subject-specific skills, explored the relationships with ability. Results showed that such as explaining events, correlated significantly both ability, not all were significant predictors. These findings indicate promote advanced practice of reasoning, teachers should pay attention comprehension skills.
